Work is underway to monitor the peregrine nest. A camera was bought with money kindly donated by Steven Matthews of Darwin Matthews Solicitors, Shropshire Members Centre and the Peregrine Group, and has been set up to monitor the nest, which in previous years has been affected by predation. This year we are hoping to find out what has been predating the nest, and if possible prevent, with the use of dazers, which emit a high pitch noise. We will keep you posted with any updates!
Welcome to the Carding Mill valley and Long Mynd. An upland plateau owned and managed by the National Trust. Full of steep valleys and precambrian rock, the Long Mynd is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covering an area of nearly 5 sqr miles

A Big Thank You to Steve Matthews
Steve Matthews of Darwin Matthews Solicitors has kindly donated money which we have used to buy a new camera for the Shropshire Hills Staff to use. The camera will be used to take photos for this blog, as well as other things, such as powerpoints for talks. This is very appreciated, thank you!
| The new camera's first task was taking photos of the Spearhead Mower on the hill |
