Checking our wet flushes

Our ecologist Caroline was helped by students Yolanda and Hannah this week monitoring the wet flushes on the hill at Wildmoor. They assessed the condition of the flushes by checking that they hadn't dried out, polluted or been damaged by recreation of livestock.

Most were in really good shape with only 2 out of 16 showign signs of slight damage by trampling by ponies. The ponies tend to go into the wet areas in the hot weather but the flushes are robust enough to stand occasional trampling and should and should readily recover.
