Heather burning has begun!

On October 1st the ranger team began controlled heather burning on the hill. This is part of the management to encourage regeneration, and therefore provide a mixture of age ranges in the heather. The fires are controlled with beaters and a high power water jet is on standby to put out the fire when the burn has covered the required area.
