Planting

With the garden all set up, planting has begun. In the poly tunnel we now have tomatoes, peppers, chillies and cucumbers. Outside we have planted some herbs including sage, chives and corriander, and in the raised beds we have planted lettuce, spinach, radishes and still have some strawberry plants from previous years. Hopefully over the next few months these plants will supply a plentiful amount of food to our tearoom.

Special Thanks to Volunteer John Worrell for all the work that he has put into getting the garden ready, the poly tunnel especially would not be up and ready without him.

Carding Mill Kitchens

Carding Mill Kitchens have produced some elderflower cordial! The flowers were gathered on the hill, and it tastes great! Pop into the Tea Room to get your bottle.

Project Wild Thing

Wednesday 15th January: at 9:30am visit the CMV Tea Room to watch the film Project Wild Thing by David Bond for just £1. Avail yourself of a warm log fire and refreshments whilst watching the comical attempts to persuade children to leave behind their laptops and connect with the outdoors. The film to end all films and from which to make life changing New Year's resolutions! Busy Christmas

A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers who gave up their time over the Christmas holidays, your help was invaluable! Many helped out in the Tea Room, along with Rangers, to ensure everyone got their Christmas cuppa.



Well Done Francis!

Congratulations to Tea-room assistant Francis Rooney who took the Junior Long Mynd Hike title at his first attempt.

Francis has been training over the summer and is pictured here with the staff which is his to keep for a year.

The junior title is awarded to the competitor under the age of 20 who completes the course in the shortest time. Francis won with a time of 18 hours 7 minutes and is looking forward to defending his title at next year’s event.

Bird Feeders

With winter fast approaching our bird feeders are busier than ever! FTV Isabel took these photos from the Roof Top Terrace, which is the perfect place to sit and watch the birds. Don't forget to ask in the tea room for the binoculars!

Mmmm Pasties!

Volunteers Eileen and Sylvia have been working hard cooking delicious delights in the kitchen this week! The amazing smell of warm pasties have been wafting through the tearoom , I can't wait to try them!

Roof Terrace Is Now Open!

The roof terrace above the tearoom is now complete and is open to the public. It is a great opportunity to take in the fantastic views of the Long Mynd while tucking into your meals and drinks.

Make Room for the Rooftop Terrace!

The solar panel situated on the tea room roof has been moved to the office roof to make room for the new rooftop terrace. It is estimated to be finished and ready to use by the beginning of March.

Getting Festive!

We have been preparing for christmas here at Carding Mill Valley, the tea room has been filled with decorations and we have two lovely christmas trees.
