Progress in the Kitchen Garden

The kitchen garden has moved on by leaps and bounds in the past couple of weeks, the new poly-tunnel has been completed after waiting for the right weather to be able to put the plastic covering on, and seeds have be planted in the raised beds. All produce from the garden will go into the tearoom to be used in various recipes there. 

Chalet Makeover

The Carding Mill Valley Chalet Pavilion is having a repaint (with the traditional National Trust Green), making it ready for the festive season. Come and check it out, and maybe grab a cup of coffee and some cake while you're at it!

New Bike Racks

FTV Richard has been taking it easy this afternoon, painting the bike racks which will go in where the school portaloos are currently. Its certainly an alternative style of painting!

Fun under the bridge

 Today we saw the arrival of the new wooden bridge opposite the chalet pavillion, we also saw some glorious sunshine! The bridge was put up by Tim and Helen from the County Council Access team and was quickly used by visitors enjoying the sun.

The New Memorial Bridge and Bench

A slate bridge and bench have been installed near the Chalet Pavillion in Carding Mill Valley. It has been planned for over 5 years, so as to help ease the shortage of outside seating at heavy times, and to allow access to both sides of the stream for pond dipping school children.

David Pritchard donated the bridge and bench to the National Trust as a memorial to his son and also designed the inscription on the top of the bench.

Painted gates

The new yard gates are finished. The gate furniture has been fitted and they have had their final coat of paint courtesy of TTF volunteer John Woolmer.

New yard gates

Today new gates were hung for the ranger's yard at Carding Mill Valley. They were made at the Dudmaston estate and have been coated with undercoat, primer and paint by the volunteers. Martin Price and his labourer hung the gates and re-fitted the gate furniture.
