The Walking Festival got underway on the 23rd October with Over The Edge, an 18 mile hike across Wenlock Edge. 230 runners and walkers took part in the event which was praised for it's good organisation and was a huge success. Next year there will be a marathon taking place on the 8th July to link in with the start of the Olympic games in London, and also another repeat challenge event on Sunday 21st October so contact the Chalet Pavilion if you would like to get involved. Other walks took part throughout the week including a hike from Carding Mill Valley to The Batch and back, led by Assistant Ranger Nick Robinson (see photo).
